POLE DANCE PARTIES! The New Girls Night Out Choice!

So you say you have a birthday coming up, bachelorette party to plan or Book club event to host, and it's up to you to create some fabulous shock and awe! You decide to plan a Pole Dance party because you've heard that it's an amazing fun time. Now how do you choose your studio and what can you expect? Read on and we'll give you some really great pointers and information to make your pole dance party a major hit!

  • The First thing you will want to do is call your studio of choice and ask about available pole dance  party packages. You will want to have to choices of two dates and times for your party, as most studios book out months in advance.

  • Get with your girlfriends to ensure that dates and times work for each guest and collect money from each guest as they rsvp, if you are intending guest to help pay for the cost of the party.

  • Once you have confirmed with the studio that your date and time is available, you will need to pay a party deposit to book your time and date.

  • Things that you will want to bring to the party are a towel, bottle of water, a pair of shorts to help you stick to the pole better, confortable clothing that will help you move freely around the pole. Heels, barefoot or socks are all great choices for pole parties, but you will want to check with the studio for their specific pole party dress requirements.

  • Do not apply lotions or oils before your pole party, as they will create a slip hazzard on the pole.

  • Jewelry and rings will most likely not be allowed at the pole party since they tend to scratch the pole. You should plan to leave them in a safe place.

  • You will go through a series of pole moves so try not to over think the moves and pay close attention to your pole party instructor to ensure that you are executing the moves properly.

  • After your party is over you will more than likely be excited and exhausted and hungry, so plan to get a bite to eat.

  • Soak in the tub once you arrive home!

  • ENJOY!

From Wii Fit to Wii Strip?

As the new Wii Fit made the rounds on morning talk shows this week, a U.K. company was working on a buzzy tidbit of its own: a stripping game for the popular console.

(AP/ABC News)Peekaboo, a company that specializes in temporary at-home stripper polls, including one endorsed by Carmen Electra, announced this week that it's developing a strip aerobics game for the Wii.
"Peekaboo is pleased to confirm that it is in talks to develop a game for the Nintendo Wii that meets mainstream demand for the fun and fitness benefits of pole dancing," the company said in an e-mailed statement. "Peekaboo and its partners are focused on using Wii-friendly hardware to make aerobic pole dancing instantly accessible just as 'Guitar Hero' did for rock'n'roll."

Electra will not be involved in the game, according to the company.

"It would be natural for the platform. … That's the Wii's strength," said Rob Enderle, a Silicon Valley analyst. "If you wanted to create a stripper poll game, this would be the system you'd target."

Dealing with Pole Burn & Pole Pain

The Facts: Dealing With Pole Burn & Pain assocated with Pole Dancing

Although pole dancing can be very fun, one of the down sides to playing on the pole can be the pain or discomfort of the dreaded pole burn.

During the 1st week of class Beginners may experience unexpected friction burn ("pole burn") from newly taught spins such as the Fireman Spins or the Knee Hold Spin. Beginners may also experience soreness due to pulling up on the pole, grabbing the pole too tight or banging into the pole while learning the new spin.

Unfortunately, this goes with the territory in pole dancing; the good news is it does get better as the body becomes conditioned, stronger, and over the initial shock of doing something new / different.
In the meantime, Aloe Vera gel, which has a cooling and therapeutic effect, can be used to minimize or relieve pole pain. For soreness, opt for a warm bath with epsom salt to help relieve discomforts.

Also ....

1. (for students starting pole climbs / inverts / holds which rely on leg grip) Use a pair of knee-length boots in grippy material (ie leather, pvc. Not suede or fabric) to begin with. They will protect your shins and feet and give a bit of extra grip while you find your correct position and technique.

They should only be used initially, and shouldn't be relied on long-term as you should aim to be able to hold such positions bare legged / footed. Practice in both equally is good.
2. If you do suffer a soft tissue injury get an ice pack on it soon as possible to reduce swelling. Later, rest it from major exertion, but keep it mobile. I have ice packs in my first aid kit should they be needed

3. Minimize chances of injury by adopting good pole technique, posture and common sense!

Pole dancing is a full contact sport, (you against the pole) so be proud of your bruises and the fact you're doing something challenging, fun and rewarding.

Pole Skivvies Introduces comfortable clothing for Pole Dancing!

Slipping on your Dance Pole? Try This!

I love Mighty Grip! I use it when my pole is a bit slippery or when I am ready to try new tricks on the pole!  It's excellent for inversion moves (upside down moves) and it works well on sweating hands and is similar to gymnast chalk, without the mess!
